Hey, for those who are still reading my blog, thank you! But I have to admit, I'm pretty bored with it. I think it's time that I take a break. I find that it's really hard for me to think of something to write, and with December being so crazy, well you get the idea. So I'll be posting my weight and anything that comes to mind. Hopefully I'll be ready for something in January that inspires me to pick it back up!
Thanks for the ongoing support. Find me on facebook or email me if you need anything!

New Moon hangover
Sorry, guys, New Moon consumed my life for a while there.
It. Was. Epic.
So I went to bed at 3 this morning and then woke up at 7 with the kiddos and decided to hit the gym.
I know, I know. Dedication, right?
And when I was done with the gym I thought, oh crap, Weight Watchers will be closed next Thursday. I didn't weigh in last week. I REALLY need to go weigh in for the week.
So I did.
And was surprised to discover that a night of Italian food and New Moon mania until the wee morning hours, didn't keep me from rockin' it.
And when I say rockin' it, what I really meant to say was, riggity rockin' it.
Because, my dear awesome blog followers, I did it.

ZUMBA!!!
Well, it's official!
I got my Zumba certification!
I had so much fun at the workshop! Our master instructor was Jenna Bostic and she had just flown back from teaching a workshop in Sweden. How cool is that? She was AMAZING! My favorite part of the day was when we got to make our own part of a routine and teach it to the other students.
Can you see me over to the side? See I'm happy with this picture because not only do I have the correct foot up but I'm actually in step with everyone else.

The little part we taught was really good, seriously it really was.

This is Jenna. Isn't she adorable! She was such an inspiration. She was so funny! Did I mention adorable?

Isn't it funny to think of what I was doing a year ago...I was still in the 200's. It seems like forever ago. Isn't it amazing what a year can do?

To run or not to run?
I've been getting quite a few comments and emails about running.
"It's not fun." is the consensus.
Agreed.
Running (jogging and walking) really isn't fun to me either. It's the feeling afterward that makes it all worth the burning lungs and shin splints. There are two main reasons I love running.
First, I find competitive sports to be less Christlike than other sports. So, that's why I love running. It's not about beating everyone else's time, it's about beating my own time. Improving upon myself. Ya know?
Second, It's fun to finish something. I'm known for procrastination and eventually leaving projects unfinished or sloppily completed. When you compete in a 5K, crossing that finish line is one of the biggest highs in the world. YOU finished it. That makes you a winner and not a quitter.
I want to compete in a marathon so I can freakin say, "I finished a marathon." Seriously, no other reason. Maybe it'll be in my obituary.
Jeannie Ann Mineer died this weekend at 103 years of age in her vacation home in southern Ireland. Her accomplishments in life included accidentally discovering the cure for cancer while serving a mission in Brazil and how to make diet Pepsi taste more like regular Pepsi. She mothered four children, all of whom have Doctorates and frontiered world peace.
She claims her greatest accomplishment of life, had to have been completing a marathon. Because dang it, it was a good conversation starter and she set out to do it.
Also, she got a shiny gold medal that said "Marathon finisher". She wishes to be buried with it, in hopes she might be able to wear it around her neck in the spirit world. You know, to be good at SOMETHING with a bunch of perfect people.

Best news EVER.
Imagine if you will, a thirtysomething mother of four who's daily life revolves around changing diapers, fetching bananas, and scaling mountains of laundry. Now close your eyes and see her leaving it all behind for four days of time spent with awesome friends and a full day devoted to getting her Zumba certification. Would you be excited for her?
I sure am.
I sure am.

Well pooey
Don't get excited, I didn't make my 50 pounds this week.
I actually didn't even come stinkin close! But I did work really hard this week, so I'm proud of myself. I put in a lot of hours exercising and even though I didn't lose much weight, I know I'm healthier because of it.
I do have some really exciting news though.
It's picture day!!!!
It has to do with the line.
Remember? It's been one of my goals since the beginning and those of you that have been with me since the beginning will remember. I don't care about having abs (although I am trying to grow one) all I want is that line that runs down the middle of the stomach.
Well. I sorta have one. And Casey managed to catch it on camera. Although not well, I must say. It's all blurry.
First I gotta start with my super fat picture.

Oh wait that's not it. I always get that one confused with this one...

And here is October's picture!

And now...look REALLY close and you can sorta see it...THE LINE!!!

Cassie's reply

Here is Cassie's reply to my venting about smashed fruit loops and the question of why don't I just go back to being fat? Love you Cass!!!
Cassandra said...
Well, 20 years from now you will be sitting at the wedding of your now five year old who's just as spontaneous, welcoming your now 18 month old home from his mission and he'll still want to be held by his mommy, congratulating your most recent college graduate who no longer pees in his pants, and greeting your little girl who at 27 has given you your first grandchild and you will be there to see it all...being healthy will get you there! Maybe that could just be a couple reasons to keep going! :)
One of my favorites
Angie does one of my favorite Zumba dances, I found this video of someone doing it, but not as awesome as she does...so fun!
You know your abs hurt when...
it hurts to pump ketchup into your little cup at Arctic Circle.
When I told Marie she said, "Who knew you used your abs to pump ketchup?"
Totally!
